Obituary for Randy Ray Dorsey

Randy Ray Dorsey, of Carrollton, passed away from complications of Diabetes at 4:00 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital, Carrollton, Missouri.

He lived with unwavering love and was granted an earthly life of 43 years, and 9 months.

On Friday, March 28, 1975, in Chillicothe, Missouri, the Lord blessed the home of Howard and Carol (Wagaman) Dorsey with the arrival their son Randy Ray. This sweet new baby boy was instantly loved and adored by his parents and siblings. Randy attended school at Verelle Peniston State School in Chillicothe, Missouri.

Randy was kindhearted and gentle, and known for the special way he had with animals, especially dogs. Randy’s father loved to Foxhunt and this soon became a passion for Randy and a sport that they could enjoy doing together. Randy started showing his Foxhounds by the age of six and won many trophies because of his abilities and the way he handled his dog's Romper, Bomber, and Dolly. Randy was always joyous, but he was the happiest when alone with his dogs while sharing a language of an equal and deeper understanding of one another. Randy also loved to listen to music and always as loud as possible. He enjoyed his walking time around town with his Walkman and earphones and always a smile on his face. He also had stacks of family photos that he liked to sort through but always knowing which pile a photo was placed. He moved into Spring Manor in April 1993 and instantly made new friends which soon became his family. Everyone that Randy came into contact with loved him instantly. He made many friends over the years and he will be greatly missed, especially by his sweet Aunt Mildred. Randy worked at the Sheltered Workshop in Carrollton and he was a lifelong member of Coloma Baptist Church.

He is survived by a brother, Nick Dorsey of Carrollton, Missouri; his Aunt Mildred Dorsey; several nieces and nephews; his Spring Manor family, his Guardian Linda Leabo, along with numerous friends and relatives that he dearly loved.

Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Carol; two brothers, Joy Dorsey and Ted Dorsey.

Services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2018, at 10:45 a.m., at Foster Funeral Chapels, Carrollton, Missouri.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Foster Funeral Chapels, Carrollton, Missouri.
