Obituary for Anna Louise "Sally" Albert

Anna Louise “Sally” Albert, of Carrollton, Missouri, passed away Monday morning, December 3, 2018, at her home in Carrollton, Missouri.

Sally lived vigorously and was granted an earthly life of 87 years, 1 month, and 5 days.

On October 29, 1931, north of Lakeview, the home of Glenard “Sox” Leroy and Geneva”Neva” Madge (McCorkendale) Evans were blessed with the arrival of their first-born child, a daughter they named Anna Louise, charmingly calling her Sally. There were four siblings to later bring blessings to their home, Tommy, Betty, Dow, and Glenna”Darlene”. The five of them would grow up being taught the wisdom of hard work and strong family ties. Sally attended school in Norborne and graduated with the class of 1949 from Norborne High School.

She married William “Billy” Harrel Miller and they were richly blessed with five children Joyce, Linda, Cheryl, Glenn, and Deanna. Billy preceded her in death.

Sally became acquainted with a wonderful person that would become her confidant and companion and on September 9, 1967, she shared vows and was united in marriage to Larry Logan Albert. To this union merged four children that Sally loved as her own, Sherrie, Larry, Jr., Shellie, and Alan. This brought their home a larger belonging and as the gathering place for family Christmas dinners, and filling every room in the house with festivity, delightful conversation, humor, and much laughter. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren would soon combine, which brought their holiday home a new tenderness and charm that was welcomed by all.

Sally was diligent and hardworking at any position before her. She was employed at Lake City Ammunition Plant, Banquet Foods in Carrollton and Conagra in Marshall. She worked into her seventies and retired from Conagra in 2007, although until three years ago she remained by Larry’s side mowing residential lawns and the upkeep of several local cemeteries. She and Larry would provide their lawn care until the early evenings in the summer then they would go home to shower and hop on his Harley Davidson and ride to Marshall or Chillicothe to eat supper together. They loved riding on the Harley and would ride to the I-70 Races or sometimes venture down to the Ozarks and visit Branson to catch a show or take a drive to enjoy the beauty of the Missouri Ozarks and all it has to offer. She and Larry shared much happiness and many blessings in their home, and even though the trials and moments of sadness their abounding strength together would see them through and remain at each other’s side for fifty-one beautiful years. Larry survives of the home.

Sally collected Barbie dolls, Avon collectible bottles and steins, and Elvis memorabilia.

Her greatest love was collecting cookbooks. She had hundreds of them and enjoyed reading through them to help her decide what new dishes she would be making for family dinners, but most importantly the family Christmas dinner.

She is survived by her loving husband, Larry Albert of the home; her children, Joyce Louise Armstrong of Blue Springs, Missouri, Linda Sue Ford and her husband, Steve of Carrollton, Missouri, Cheryl Kay Edgar and her husband Jimmy of Richmond, Missouri, William “Glenn” Miller and his wife Nancy of DeWitt, Missouri, Deanna Jo Glenn and her husband Tommy of Gantsville, Utah, Sherrie Renee Albert of Carrollton, Missouri, Larry Logan Albert, Jr. of Carrollton, Missouri, Shellie Lanee Corbin of Carrollton, Missouri, Claude “Alan” Albert and his wife Tracie of Carrollton, Missouri; two sisters, Betty Mae Dickson and her husband Zee, and Glenna Darlene Medley; a brother, Dow Eugene Evans; nineteen grandchildren, Matthew Wheeler (Kim), Audra Driggs (Dereck), Devin Frazier (Toby), Wesley Ford (Angie), Shannon Ashinhurst (Braxton), Kimberly Edgar (Shea), Jacky Miller (Joanna), Jeremy Miller (Danielle) Jenny Meade (Corey), Jason Glenn (Kimberly), Brandon Green (Jocie), Sheldon Green, Alijah Green, Cara Albert, Cody Albert (Shaina), Jessica Davenport (Paul), Jonathon Corbin, Olivia Corbin and Chandler Webb; thirty-one great-grandchildren, Reagen, Taylor, Reese, Mia Joy, Livia Ann, Maclin, Julia Lou, Neva, Nash, Max, Brittnie, Brooke, Allison, Nate, Kaylee, Dakoda, Rowdy, Ellaina, Liam, Alba, Shelby, Jake, Leo, Gabi, Julius, Avery, Eva Mae, Jack, Gillian, Colin, Huston; two great-great-grandchildren, Sophia and Averionna, and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Armstrong; a brother-in-law, Lewis Albert and a sister-in-law, Florence Albert; a granddaughter, Amy Nicole “Nikki” Albert; a grandson, Colby Alan Wade Albert; a great-granddaughter Sydney Jo Miller.
